Review Centre: Folk Groups

"Liam was asked to sing and play acoustically for my mums memorial at the "lost village of Dode" near Gravesend. As part of the set he was asked to learn and play two songs he had not played before, the songs were all folk ballads. I was slightly apprehensive about getting the right person for my mum's memorial but after my initial contact with Liam I knew he was the chap! On all communication he showed sensitivity and a strong will to play what we desired. On the day he played with great accomplishment and musicality. The tone, sound and timing were perfect. Many of the congression complimented me afterwards on the choice of musician. Thank you Liam for contributing to make such a special occasion that will be held in our memories."

"BM Ceilidh Band were exceptional for our Military Burns formal dinner night. Dave was lovely to work with on the lead up to the event, and catered for a last minute date change with no fuss – thank you so much for that. On the night Dave, Alan and Gerry were just excellent! Their knowledge and variety of Ceilidh songs ensured the night was a roaring success with the dance floor full for every song. The combination of the Melodian, Guitar and superb singing really made the night special. 100% would recommend to anyone and hope to have them again for future events. "

"The Blue Jewel Ceilidh band were fantastic and really made our event. They got everyone up dancing and dealt with with a large group of people. Somehow they got us all dancing in formation and getting most of the steps correct! This was a fund raising event for us so it was important to have a value for money band and to run an event that people enjoyed and would remember. Blue Jewel certainly achieved this. The feedback from guests was that they had a fantastic time and would attend a similar event next year. The fact several of our guests asked for Blue Jewel's contact details also speaks of how popular they were. Thank you again for helping us run such a successful and enjoyable event."

"Thanks you so much The Shooglers for playing at our wedding in April. I booked you after receiving a recommendation from the bass player of my own band. He was at a function you guys were playing at last year and he raved about you so much i was really glad you were able to play for us. There were guests from Canada, Dublin and New Zealand at our wedding and they were all joining in and everyone had a superb night. I especially enjoyed how you blended in rock and pop tunes with some of the Ceilidh dances. "The Shooglers were incredible for our wedding reception. The Ceilidh calling was fantastic and the mix of Ceilidh folk and rock/pop beats was just amazing. The entire dance floor filled so fast! Not only were the Ceilidh tunes good the band also played some brilliant Beatles covers near the end after my wife and I spoke to them about how much we loved the Beatles. We now have lifetime memories on the dance floor from our wedding. Thank you so much to Davie and the guys from The Shooglers, you are awesome! "
