Review Centre: Folk Groups

"I booked the It's No' Reel Ceilidh Band to play at a Burns event I was hosting in Scotland for an international group of friends, mostly based in Germany. The band quickly gauged the experience of the group and provided a selection of music that ensured everyone enjoy themselves dancing. The dance floor was always packed despite it being most of the guests' first ceilidh. On the practical side they also turned up on time, set up and packed up quickly and without fuss, and coped with our frequent schedule changes on the night with a smile. I would strongly recommend them"

"We recently asked It's No' Reel Ceilidh Band to play at our daughter's wedding. The band arrived on time and set up without any fuss. In fact we were hardly aware of their presence until they started to play. There were a number of English guests and Tom kindly went through the steps of the dances at the start. This was really helpful and encouraged everyone on to the floor. The music was great and played so well. We could not have asked for a better band. A big thanks to all that played for us you made our very special day really great."

"Had Whisky & Ginger for our wedding band and they took care of music for the whole day, from ceremony right up to the end of the night and it was perfect. Such great song choices from beginning to end, and they pitched the mood exactly how I dreamed it. Thank you so much and hope to see you live again soon!"

"Sophie and I just wanted to thank you guys so much for keeping everyone entertained during our wedding day back in August, you managed to do exactly what we had wanted and did with such high spirits. Thanks also for being so accommodating to all my little surprises like learning the music so that Samantha could sing the first song, and sorry for not having time to sing Kiss From A Rose. "Danny is very personable and we loved having him entertain our birthday guests at our home. Good communication and totally reliable. Good feedback from our guests who enjoyed his entertainment. "An entertaining and infectiously ‘feel-good’ evening’s singing and good humour. These Bouys have an astonishing repertoire of shanties at their tongue tips and deliver them with an approachable enthusiasm that makes audience participation feel comfortable. They understand the needs of the venue hosts (in this case a microbrewery) and promote these as part of their set. Extremely good value."

"Absolutely brilliant. This guy should and most likely will be a successful recording artist. Superb guitar skills, a chocolatey timbre to his voice that makes his singing something very special. My parents who are very hard to please were singing along and will remember this day as one of those special family moments. Danny is so good with people and obviously loves what he does. "LMM organised the setting up of the event in a very efficient friendly and helpful manner. Even when our original act pulled out unexpectedly Sarah-Jane bent over backwards to ensure we got a similar act at a similar price, all at relatively short notice We were delighted with tremendous set which Martin and Anna of the Ardvierikie Ceilidh Band performed for us all on our son’s wedding night; it exceeded all of our expectations! Right from the word go, their professionalism and enthusiasm shone through, with both demonstrating superb musicianship combined with the excellent calling skills of Anna who got everyone up on their feet for the whole night! It gave all of us all an amazing evening to remember all our lives and greatly contributed to the success of the wedding as a whole."
