"The Northern Ceilidh band performed at our wedding reception and were fabulous! Jon and the others are extremely talented musicians, and Joyce an experienced and engaging caller. The dance floor for the ceilidh was full from start to finish, and our guests had so much fun. Prior to the wedding, Jon and Joyce went to the trouble of videoing a sequence for us so that we could practice a ‘first dance’ with friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Wonderful people, wonderful musicians and a wonderful night of dancing. If you’re looking for a fantastic Ceilidh band, look no further! "

"Booked Josh and fiddle player for my husbands 50th as he loves Irish music. The lads were great, played lots of Irish songs and also lots of other famous songs to get everyone going. Would defintely recommend!"

"Thanks so much for last Saturday - the band were fantastic and the caller was so lovely in the way she gently got so many people involved - particularly loved the way she drew the Children in ! You managed to get several people dancing who had never danced at a barn dance before and one person said ' I never dance at weddings , but this seemed so friendly and fun I thought I'd have a go - particularly when I saw their name was two left feet cos that's me!' You created just the atmosphere we were hoping for and we also had several comments about how good the musicians were - and that came from people who are accomplished musicians themselves. So many thanks to all the band! "

" This is the third year we have had the pleasure of Black Velvet Band providing our entertainment for Burns Night. Once again it was an absolutely fantastic night had by all, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the dancing. Great explanations throughout and lots of fun. "I book Paddy for a number of pubs in Glasgow and he always gives a great performance. He has fantastic vocals, exceptional guitar skills and always works with the crowd picking the songs they want. He is happy to play requests if he can and has been known to give great renditions of songs he has never done before on the spot."

"We have booked Black Velvet Band for our Wedding in Devon on 20th May. We were delighted to find out from Jennie that they were playing at The Water Poet in Spitalfields on St Patricks Night. Being from London, this was perfect. We arrived to a heaving pub with great Irish tunes belting out the door. The pub was packed and everyone was Irish on Friday. Black Velvet Irish Band played everything from The Wild Rover to some traditional reels and jigs. The were excellent and we cannot wait to have them play on our special day. We met with the lads after who were all so friendly and welcoming. I’ve been in a quite a few pubs on St Patrick’s Day but I’ve never experienced an atmosphere like that. The crowd were singing and dancing, Black Velvet your were fantastic, we cant wait to see you guys on 20th May 2017. Niamh Ivey"
