"Heard 'The Shooglers' play at a fantastic wedding I was photographing, well I was so desperate to join in the dancing - truly fantastic music ;-) I love the one you did with the mix of Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall - was amazing, tapping my foot and itching to dance - best music at a wedding I’ve ever heard !!!!"

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 16/07/2021 / Cecilia and Johny’s Wedding Mike and the Black Velvet Band played at our wedding and put together a fantastic set. They had very thoughtfully come up with some more Covid secure dances to cater for people wishing to stay in their respective bubbles but managed to maintain the energy and enthusiasm throughout. The music was brilliant and the calling was the best that I’ve seen at a ceilidh (a difficult skill to perfect!). We did 6 or 7 dances and the band very considerately asked how we (my wife and I) would like to lead the dances to ensure plenty of people engaged but we had no concerns as everyone joined in. All of our guests were delighted and we can’t thank the band for stepping in at relatively short notice, we had a brilliant time."

"My wife and I had a black tie/kilted dinner dance recently with over 90 guests of all ages. The highlight of the evening was the Northern Reel Collective.They had everyone up dancing and having fun and with a professional dance caller it all went incredibly well. We would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone looking for a traditional, energetic, professional Ceilidh Band . "We had seen this band before booking them for our wedding, so we had the highest expectations of them and somehow they still managed to surpass them! An absolutely perfect choice for our special day. Do not underestimate the impact of a good ceilidh band for a wedding or other party function as it breaks the ice amongst all the guests and never fails to get everyone up dancing, whether sober or not-so-sober! We only married yesterday and already have guests messaging us requesting The Blue Jewel's details!"

"Booked Josh and fiddle player for my husbands 50th as he loves Irish music. The lads were great, played lots of Irish songs and also lots of other famous songs to get everyone going. Would defintely recommend!"
