"Book them now you won’t be disappointed, my guests from age 8 to 80 loved this band. The amount of sadness when they stopped playing we could have danced until the early hours of the music licence had allowed ! Ben and the other members were amazing full of energy, coped with having to re jig a smallish space around without any worries. Dances were perfect and pitched at all levels of ability and if you didn’t or couldn’t dance it was fun to watch and tap along. Words from my guests were awesome, amazing, invigorating and the best fun amongst a few. Definitely worth booking you won’t be disappointed- Ben and co please be proud you make people’s nights ? you are a very talented, relational bunch I can’t wait until I’m 60 now as I’ll be booking you again ?"

"There was so much positive resonance in the air from the enjoyment you, Steve and Gordon created with your music and leadership. Many people commented on the numerous smiley faces and the delight at being with others, taking exercise. “Their best party in two years”! Thank you, all, for sharing your musical flair and enabling a fun evening. We are well aware there would be nothing without your skills. Yes, there was some rust amongst the brain cells but it was also noticeable that very few dances were sat out!"

"We've so enjoyed having Blackbeard's Tea Party along at our events that they're now our "go to" band every time we have a ceilidh. They bring energy, musical talent and a sense of fun every time they play. Our ceilidh events are always a success, and that's mainly down to this great group of musicians. If you want a lively "proper" ceilidh band, then look no further than Blackbeard's Tea Party."

"Stuart, thank you for a sterling evening on Saturday - everyone had a great time as was witnessed by the amount of dancing (despite the age of some of the participants.  Thank you very much for supporting us and doing the Address to the Haggis as well as the Selkirk Grace - it is very much appreciated (especially as you have such a passionate delivery of the words).  Thanks go to Jill as well as she is the perfect caller for a group like ours where many are novices and the rest of us forget the steps from one year to the next. "This band are the best in the west! Kip is a brilliant caller - he puts people at their ease and makes it all such fun. Musically the band are top notch - Steve is a brilliant fiddler and they are all so on it and experienced that you know you are in very safe hands. I would recommend them very highly. "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Hugo and Sophie’s Wedding – February 2026 Thank you so much for performing at Croydon Hall for our very special Valentine’s Day Wedding. As soon as the guests heard the band start playing the dance floor was full with very keen participants. All the guests had a fantastic time – the Father of the Groom said it was the perfect wedding entertainment. ! We will definitely be inviting you back!"
