Review Centre: Celtic Groups & Ceilidh Bands

"Black Velvet Band Irish Trio came to play at our relaxed outdoor pre-wedding get together of about 40 people. The three who made up the band were great – very talented musicians – they played all our favourites as well as some wider material. They were very keen to fit in with what we wanted to hear and gauged the mood as to whether to sing ballads or play jigs (after a few drinks people were up for having a bit of a dance). It was such a joy to hear live music again after all these months of covid restrictions. The Band really made the evening and they were really lovely people."

"Kip and the band were fantastic. We had a big Irish wedding with my family who had all come over for the occasion and the band did not disappoint. I requested an extra instrument and we just wanted session music and they delivered in style. I would highly recommend for a fantastic authentic Irish band to keep people up on the dance floor. "No one talks about our wedding without mentioning the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band. These talented musicians provided the perfect end to the perfect day. Somehow everyone, even the shyest of our guests, got up and danced the night away with the infectious enthusiasm of the band. The ceilidh provided a relaxed, fun way for all of our guests to mix and meet one another, and allowed us to dance with everyone! Both myself and my husband adore folk music, and we could not have chosen a friendlier, more talented band than the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band. A particular highlight was when the band performed a traditional wedding piece, where all of our guests danced around us who were sat in the middle! I cannot recommend this band enough, wonderfully warm people with superb talent. Obviously we were on a budget paying for a whole wedding, but these guys are very reasonably priced and deliver much more than the price we paid. Thank you all very, very much for giving us the wedding reception we dreamed of."

They played a great mix of upbeat Irish songs and traditional classics and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance. We received lots of positive feedback from our customers both in person and on social media. We will book them again!"

"Thank you for the beautiful music you played for my Mother's funeral. It was perfect and totally appropriate. It was so uplifting and although we were all sad it made the day a wonderful celebration of my Mother's life . If she were there she would have been dancing."

"These guys provided such an awesome ceilidh at our wedding. We had a lot of in experienced and multinational guests and the caller did an incredible job of getting everyone involved and having fun. It was a real highlight of the night for us and we can't recommend these guys enough!"

"Blue Jewel were amazing and had us all up dancing with easy to follow instructions and demonstrations of how to do the dancing. I will definitely use this band again for the next party I have. "Blue Jewel played our wedding in August 2023 and were absolutely amazing! Steve was really great to communicate with leading up the event and on the day they blew our guests away with a super varied set that had literally everyone on the dancefloor. There were a few ceilidh pros in the party who loved getting to know some new dances and there were also total amateurs who found it very accessible and developed a new love for dancing. I can't recommend them highly enough and will definitely be trying to come up with an excuse to have another ceilidh in the future!"

"Just a quick, and rather late, note to say a very Big Thank You to you and the team for the wonderful Saturday evening that you provided. We had an absolutely amazing time, and lots of the guests have said that they did too. We were really delighted to see so many people dancing, I don't think that anyone was able to restrain themselves. It was just a pity that the whole evening had to come to an end."

"Davie,Nicky and I are just back from a trip up north and have only now got 'connected' to the outside world again. Just a wee note to thank you and the rest the Shooglers for an amazing ceilidh at our wedding at Lunga. We loved it and everyone else did too, more than a few folk took your cards and are trying to think of an excuse to have their own ceilidh and book you guys for it!
