"Hired The Shooglers for our wedding, a mixture of an idea and blind faith, as the big day approached our anxiety increased we needn't have worried, they were excellent the dance floor was filled all night everyone had a ball,(and the free dance lessons were excellent too guys), this morning we've had texts and phone calls from loads of people all commenting on what a great night it was; brilliant. "

"​We never actually got to speak on the day but I wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the Band for an amazing evening.  You were all so professional and fun and made our wedding so memorable. I was so impressed that there was always a full compliment of dancers on the floor which is always testament to the skills of caller and band - people couldn't wait to get up to dance. I only wish my dress would have allowed a little more dancing for myself - however it was a joy to watch people having a great time.  I have had so many comments on how fantastic you all were and where we managed to find you!  Thank you again for such a wonderful and memorable evening for us and our guests."

"The booking process was easy and flawless, I particularly liked being able to ring and talk to the agent. Dermot and his friend are very talented and made the wedding. They played Irish ballads through the meal and then burst into Irish jigs after the first dance. Dermot was flexible and worked well with our DJ. I will love to book him again at some point."

"The ceilidh was all amazing, couldn’t fault it. The caller worked really hard to make sure everyone at least sort of had a clue what they were doing, and adapted it for when there were too many couples and not enough space! Only complaint is that he almost killed me making me do Strip the Willow line twice with my very enthusiastic husband!! Thanks for everything 😊"

"My wife and I had a black tie/kilted dinner dance recently with over 90 guests of all ages. The highlight of the evening was the Northern Reel Collective.They had everyone up dancing and having fun and with a professional dance caller it all went incredibly well. We would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone looking for a traditional, energetic, professional Ceilidh Band . "Just a quick note to thank you for playing at the wedding of my daughter Emma and Nathaniel's wedding on the 29th December at the Old Swan Hotel. Iam sorry that I was unable to catch you on the evening and express my thanks as the ceilidh capped a wonderful day. For many of the guests this was their first experience of a ceilidh as we had guests from Australia, Japan, Switzerland and Canada. They/we loved it and you made the dance routines very clear with your instructions. Those that could no dance really the live music. Please pass on my gratitude to the other musicians. "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Georgina’s Wedding Ceilidh – July 2025 The band were a great edition to our wedding party event. They arrived on time and had no issues setting up independently with minimal direction from us as hosts. They gave good directions in terms of getting us started with a first dance, and set the tone for the two sets they played perfectly – giving great instructions to the mostly complete novice crowd present, with a good dose of humour alongside. Everyone there from small children through to retirees was able to participate. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again for a future event, or to recommend them to others."

"Rejigged were hired to play at my 50th birthday party. After reading many positive reviews from their website, I was really looking forward to an entertaining evening of music, dance and laughter with my friends and family. They didn’t disappoint! Chris liaised on behalf of the band and kept regular contact, before the event, ensuring he knew exactly how I wanted the evening to pan out. Booking and payment was simple and advice offered to maximise the success of the evening. We had booked the 5 piece Cailidh band, including the caller. The musicians were highly skilled professionals and their choice of music was perfect for the evening. The caller was entertaining and very patient with us dancers, who joined in enthusiastically, if not skilfully! (Let’s face it, going wrong in the dance is half of the fun!) The band played non-stop for one and a half hours, stopped for half an hour for refreshments and then continued for a further hour. It was wonderful to see the enjoyment on everyone’s faces and the atmosphere was full of fun and laughter. The band really made my special birthday an event to remember: they were excellent! If a Ceilidh band is something you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to book Rejigged; you won’t be disappointed, I promise. K.Barker "

"Davie, I just wanted to contact you to say, ‘thank you VERY much, indeed’ to you and your band members for performing last Friday evening at the annual Grange Dyvours Tennis Club ‘Snow Ball’ and making it the tremendous success that it was. I have been to many weddings, ceilidhs and parties over the years and danced to many bands and I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, that ‘The Big Shoogle’ stands head and shoulders above the rest. Who would have thought that weaving in Pink Floyd and Deep Purple tracks in the middle of a Dashing White Sergeant would have worked but it did! You were an absolute pleasure to deal with, before our event; you all drove a considerable distance to arrive, at exactly the time requested, to set up all your equipment then, after our dinner, you returned to put on the most amazing performance. Some of our (non-Scottish) members had never danced some of the dances before but you made sure to talk everyone through what was expected, as a warm up, before the mayhem began. My face was sore laughing, at the end of some of those dances. Just brilliant. Our ‘Snow Ball’ on Friday evening was an astounding success and we have you to thank for that. Absolutely first class. P.s. Also, thanks for taking our booking for our ball, next Christmas. I wanted to get in quick to secure you as I know how much in demand you are! "

"Kip and the band were excellent!! Brilliant, clear calling which made the evening both straightforward and so much fun. They had a lovely mix of songs - some that we had heard before and some new ones (to us) - but all perfectly performed. We had a joy filled evening dancing and would highly recommend this band to others."
