"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – International Student’s Ceilidh – July 2025 This is the second time we have booked the Black Velvet Band for our summer ceilidh, and it was such fun! The band ran two different dancing sessions for our international students and were very patient with explaining the dances and encouraging all students to participate. The music was brilliant and energetic, and all three band members were so kind and even paused for a photoshoot with the students. We are looking forward to next summer already. I’d absolutely recommend them for any event/party/celebration!"

"What a treat it was last night to have you playing for us. Your choice of music was delightful and, of course, so beautifully played. I hope you could feel the appreciation from our guests. The dancing went very well considering the large numbers of non-members attending; what they lacked in expertise, they more than made up for in enthusiasm. "I write to thank you most sincerely for recommending Bagtastic to play at our Charity Ball on Saturday night in the Hilton Hotel. The 600 guests thoroughly enjoyed their performance and asking where they would be playing next.  We all look forward to having them at our Ball next year. Bagtastic really did rock our event.  Everyone was out of their seats dancing along with them.  Their music, fun and enthusiasm really contributed to the success of our charity Ball. "We both wanted to extend our thanks for the wonderful music the BVB accordion and fiddle duo performed for us on our wedding day. We both had an amazing time and really felt that Mike and Jase added to the day immeasurably. Stef in particular enjoyed the special attention that was given to her by the duo - the guys played an instrumental version of her favourite song - and we both loved seeing family members singing along to Dutch classics. The interaction with the duo themselves was excellent and certainly helped us feel relaxed in both the run up to and on the day itself."

"We had our wedding reception some months after the wedding to allow for school holidays. People had braved some horrible Friday travel to get there, it was very hot ..... and then ........ the band started! The kids stopped playing and all wanted to dance, people of all ages got up and everyone had a smile on their faces. Blue Jewel simply made our evening. Steve, deputising as caller was exceptional creating such a rapport, remembering names and full of gentle banter! Oh and soooo patient with us all. We had ages from 6 to 85 on the floor having fun. We can't really praise Blue Jewel enough - except to give our heartfelt thanks! Book Them NOW don't miss out!!!"

"Black Velvet Band Irish Trio came to play at our relaxed outdoor pre-wedding get together of about 40 people. The three who made up the band were great – very talented musicians – they played all our favourites as well as some wider material. They were very keen to fit in with what we wanted to hear and gauged the mood as to whether to sing ballads or play jigs (after a few drinks people were up for having a bit of a dance). It was such a joy to hear live music again after all these months of covid restrictions. The Band really made the evening and they were really lovely people."

"I just wanted to express our thanks for playing at our wedding reception on Friday. We loved the mix of traditional ceilidh and ceilidh covers you played, as well as the 80s music. Thanks too for joining in with our guests and taking time to speak to the children - it was much appreciated and made everyone feel part of the evening. "They arrived promptly, set up without any fuss, played two brilliant sets , were very generous with their time and got everyone dancing. Mike called the dances clearly and gave people chance to have a quick practice. Mike encouraged everyone and the dance floor never emptied. The band really helped make the wedding very special. "
