"We cannot say enough good things about this band!! Fantastically skilled, wonderful musicians that created a warm, fun atmosphere from the moment they arrived at our venue. Every single one of our guests has commented since about how wonderful the music was and what a good job the caller Kip did of bringing everyone together and talking us through the steps in a relaxed but clear manner. The music the band played was varied and appropriately chosen for our style of wedding reception and EVERYBODY got involved and had a dance - the music really brought people together and created a wonderful atmosphere all evening. This band are amazing and excellent value for money, and we won't hesitate to hire them again at our next big gathering. Thank you so much Blue Jewel for giving us a magical evening, you were the cherry on our wedding cake!"

"We hired the Edinburgh Ceilidh Trio for our wedding and they were fantastic, we had 3 hours of playing and I don't think the dance floor was empty once. They were great at explaining the dances to the guests, allowing them to quickly learn the dances and have a go. Many of the guests - most of which had never done a ceilidh before - all reported how much fun they had. "

"The ceilidh was the highlight of our wedding. Despite us running very late on the day, Blue Jewel were extremely professional and adaptable, and put on a stunning ceilidh. The atmosphere they created was exactly what we hoped for. Everyone joined in, everyone laughed, everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you to you all- a real evening to remember! :)"

"Hi Fiddlestix, thank you so much for such a fun time at our party on Saturday. The band were amazing and Geoff the caller did an amazing job at keeping us under control! The dance floor was always packed and we’ve had so many compliments about you. This is the first time many of our friends have been to a Ceilidh and they all had a great time. "From the beginning everything about booking the band was carried out in an extremely professional manner. The agent was very helpful and it didn’t take long for everything to be confirmed for the big party- my daughter’s 21st. A few weeks before the event Ruth contacted me to discuss music ideas. Straightaway I sensed her enthusiasm and enjoyment for what she does and we couldn’t wait for the music on the night. On the night everyone turned up as arranged and the band was left to set up. Then the best bit!! The music was absolutely amazing. It was impossible not to be toe tapping and bopping throughout the set. The age range was wide from 6 to 65 and the band had them all up dancing and smiling. The line dance caller was doing a grand job explaining all the moves and shouting out encouragement- and rescuing the ones who got a bit lost!! The band played 2 one hour sets ( kindly covering for me after the first set as the food wasn’t quite ready!!) and also performing the Christmas song “Fairy Tale of New York” in the middle of summer as it’s my daughter’s favourite song!! Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the massive amount of positive feedback from them all really makes you know that the party went well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone- you won’t be disappointed."

"What a great way to celebrate St Patrick’s day at our Cons club! The performance went amazingly well! The dance floor was full on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON! I put that down to the guys who played songs and tunes with such an exciting beat that you just couldn’t stay still. The whole afternoon was huge fun. I highly recommend the band."

"Black Velvet Band provided a five piece ceilidh band and caller for the finale of the Hawkins’ team building event. We thought the room would be too big – but we were wrong! The band brought an absolute gem of a caller, who read the crowd perfectly and the dance floor was full throughout the evening. We could have done with a larger space! The band was superb and the event was enjoyed by all concerned. I thoroughly recommend the band."

"This is the second time we have booked the Black Velvet Band for our summer ceilidh, and it was such fun! The band ran two different dancing sessions for our international students and were very patient with explaining the dances and encouraging all students to participate. The music was brilliant and energetic, and all three band members were so kind and even paused for a photoshoot with the students. We are looking forward to next summer already. I’d absolutely recommend them for any event/party/celebration!"

"Hello!, You played at our wedding at the Ghillie Dhu on 6th October. Just wanted to thank you so much for the amazing music which created such a buzz and atmosphere that I'll never forget!! You were absolutely fantastic and the talk of the day. All of our guests including the ones who admitted that they "hate a ceilidh", all said you were absolutely amazing and the by far the best ceilidh band they had ever heard.
