Review Centre: Celtic Groups & Ceilidh Bands

"We had our wedding reception some months after the wedding to allow for school holidays. People had braved some horrible Friday travel to get there, it was very hot ..... and then ........ the band started! The kids stopped playing and all wanted to dance, people of all ages got up and everyone had a smile on their faces. Blue Jewel simply made our evening. Steve, deputising as caller was exceptional creating such a rapport, remembering names and full of gentle banter! Oh and soooo patient with us all. We had ages from 6 to 85 on the floor having fun. We can't really praise Blue Jewel enough - except to give our heartfelt thanks! Book Them NOW don't miss out!!!"

"We just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and all the band, and of course your caller. We absolutely loved hearing you all play again and it was wonderful seeing all of our friends and family enjoying the dancing and music. It is something we will never forget.  We’re sorry that we weren’t running to time on the day, but thank you for being so understanding and I hope you all managed to enjoy some cake and cheese whilst you were waiting to set up.  We will be keeping an eye out for any future dates in your diary and coming along to another ceilidh, think we’ve got the bug! "We had a ceilidh for a volunteer celebration. Even before the event Lilac was super helpful with suggestions of what timings would work well and how to encourage people to get involved. The band arrived in good time to set up and we’re really friendly. They were flexible on the night without us needing to intervene and got people dancing again after a break for speeches. The band also included those with less mobility and were great and encouraging everyone to get involved. We had the majority of people dancing throughout the event. I would totally recommend."

"Mark and the band were amazing, turned up on time and did exactly what they said they would do. The vocals and music was spot on and interacted superbly with the guests ......... Played a wide range of well know songs to keep everybody happy with everybody shouting for MORE!!!! at the end of the night. Would definately recommend ........ you wont be disappointed!!!!!! "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 08/04/2023 / Ceilidh for Eastercon 2023 (Sci Fi enthusiast's convention) We had a fun-filled, joyous ceilidh, thanks to the amazing, talented Black Velvet Band.The band members are great fun. Alan had us laughing so much with his warmth and humour when calling the dances. The booking process was straightforward and professional. When I talked on the phone to Mike in advance, I was assured that these guys knew their stuff. When I requested non-gendered calling, that was no problem. The band are very versatile - they added a little Star Trek and Dr Who music, seamlessly, into the ceilidh tunes, to give us an extra-special thrill!
