"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 16/07/2021 / Cecilia and Johny’s Wedding Mike and the Black Velvet Band played at our wedding and put together a fantastic set. They had very thoughtfully come up with some more Covid secure dances to cater for people wishing to stay in their respective bubbles but managed to maintain the energy and enthusiasm throughout. The music was brilliant and the calling was the best that I’ve seen at a ceilidh (a difficult skill to perfect!). We did 6 or 7 dances and the band very considerately asked how we (my wife and I) would like to lead the dances to ensure plenty of people engaged but we had no concerns as everyone joined in. All of our guests were delighted and we can’t thank the band for stepping in at relatively short notice, we had a brilliant time."

"Jamie was a complete professional and delivered our wedding songs beautifully. We asked Jamie to learn some songs that were personal to us and he didn't disappoint. He was honest and realistic with us to ensure that it met our expectations which was really appreciated as we all know how important it is to have that perfect wedding day. Lots of our guests commented on his performance and loved the music. Would highly recommend."

"Hello Philip, This is Heather Clark I booked you last year, for a 60th birthday party at Newtongrange Mining Museum which was a fantastic night and Stuart whose party it was loved every moment of it especially when he dressed up as Elvis ..you and the other members of your band were fantastic with all the special people who were at the party ..would it be possible to book you again for a lady we support who will be 80 in July and its being held at St Matthews hall in Rosewell its a bigger hall but I think the 4 piece would be good ..hope to hear from you soon."

"Blue Jewel played at my husbands 60th birthday. Everything from the initial enquiry was straightforward and hassle free. They were fantastic musicians, good fun and Kipp as caller was easy to understand and follow and everyone had a fabulous time. We have had so many comments since the night about how enjoyable it was. Your band and your caller Geoff kept everyone fully involved all night long and it was a very enjoyable evening in the knowledge that essential money was raised to help people and their families affected by cancer. £1300 was raised last night after all expenses and we feel that was a decent amount. "Ruby was an Absolute star! She was so professional and the way she can read the crowd to know what songs to go with next she’s amaze balls! I can honestly say with my hand on my heart she made our day! She has an amazing energy that you feel through her voice! You need to charge way more for her amazing talent! "As a passionate fan of Irish folk music, my daughters arranged for Paul Brennan band to come and play at my 60th birthday party as a surprise. They didn't dissapont , with a brilliant selection of Irish music and songs it was lovely evening. Paul's mastering of the Ulian pipes has to be seen to be believed. They were very friendly and played everything we asked for. I would definitely book them again."

"Although I was busy with guests and getting tea and supper ready, what I heard for Francis and Janet was absolutely lovely. The guests who were enjoying tea in the garden , listening and watching them said just how much they enjoyed it and how beautifully they played. So a big thank you.."
