"Everything was fantastic from the day I booked, right to the day Banish Misfortunes played. The duo were everything I expected and so much more, contributing greatly to the already electric atmosphere. I couldn't have wished for a better turn out. "Second time we have heard Blue jewel - the first at their recent gig in the Stoke Gabriel Village hall just last Saturday they put on a Ceilidh Dance for our wedding reception. Really great on both occasions - super caller for our dance - just right for the many who had never done folk dancing and on both occasions their enthusiasm and light touch really made for a great evening. Would recommend for any occasion "

"I hired this band last year for my wedding and they blew everyone away. All the music was everything we asked for and they sounded amazing all night. All songs are 'dancey' with no boring fillers. They even performed our first dance request, I recommend you book this band now."

"The Shooglers played at my brother’s wedding this weekend and were AMAZING!! Doing the Dashing White Sergeant to a ceilidhfied cover of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in The Wall" was a particular highlight! "

"The Shooglers played at our wedding in May and they were great! They were brilliant at calling the ceilidh dances and Davie (the caller) certainly has the gift of the gab! He encouraged everyone to get up and dance and had people laughing in the process with lines like, 'the next dance is a prize dance... Prise yourselves off your seats and get up to dance! All our guests commented on how good the band was and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them - a great find!"

"The Northern Ceilidh band performed at our wedding reception and were fabulous! Jon and the others are extremely talented musicians, and Joyce an experienced and engaging caller. The dance floor for the ceilidh was full from start to finish, and our guests had so much fun. Prior to the wedding, Jon and Joyce went to the trouble of videoing a sequence for us so that we could practice a ‘first dance’ with friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Wonderful people, wonderful musicians and a wonderful night of dancing. If you’re looking for a fantastic Ceilidh band, look no further! "

"Absolutely breathtaking! Just couldn't stop saying 'wow'! So professional with a quirky twist. The music was extremely engaging right from the start and the dancing got everyone up on their feet. I will definitely be booking them for my 'leaving our house' do. (That's if they'll have me!) BRILLIANT XX"

Right from the word go, your professionalism and enthusiasm shone through, with both of you demonstrating superb musicianship combined with the excellent calling skills of Anna who got everyone up on their feet for the whole night! It gave all of us all an amazing evening to remember all our lives and greatly contributed to the success of the wedding as a whole. "The Skippers are amazing! We booked them for our wedding in France this summer and couldn't have been happier with our choice. They sounded exactly like what we wanted and delivered a fantastic performance that kept all of our guests dancing into the early morning. Hire them - you will not regret it! Simply fantastic."

"We had such a brilliant night! The dances were well chosen with fun and covid in mind. Paul gave good explanations for the dances which helped alot. The band were very flexible and friendly when we were running late. Also the music was incredible! Wonderful band that got everyone dancing! "
