Review Centre: Folk Groups

"No one talks about our wedding without mentioning the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band. These talented musicians provided the perfect end to the perfect day. Somehow everyone, even the shyest of our guests, got up and danced the night away with the infectious enthusiasm of the band. The ceilidh provided a relaxed, fun way for all of our guests to mix and meet one another, and allowed us to dance with everyone! Both myself and my husband adore folk music, and we could not have chosen a friendlier, more talented band than the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band. A particular highlight was when the band performed a traditional wedding piece, where all of our guests danced around us who were sat in the middle! I cannot recommend this band enough, wonderfully warm people with superb talent. Obviously we were on a budget paying for a whole wedding, but these guys are very reasonably priced and deliver much more than the price we paid. Thank you all very, very much for giving us the wedding reception we dreamed of."

"We were absolutely delighted. The whole thing was 'just right' and exactly what we were hoping for, including the type of dances and the calling. I have been receiving only positive feedback about it all. In fact our members are saying that it's the best Spring Celebration we've ever had. The non-dancers enjoyed it too as they were happy just listening to the music and watching the rest of us prancing about. "Such a fun dancing evening! The ceilidh was a definite highlight of our wedding. Everyone joined in and had at amazing time. It was lovely to see all our guests dancing and laughing together. The band went out of their way to ensure our wedding celebrations went smoothly - they helped us with the cake cutting, our first dance and had a lovely surprise for us at the end! Highly recommend."

"the New Fox Band were phenomenal at our wedding. They are brilliant musicians and learnt a special request for our first dance. They played 2 very entertaining sets that kept the dance floor full all night, while giving instructions clear enough for a large group of not-so-sober guests! It really made the evening, I would 100% recommend them to anyone"

"Hired for a Ceilidh at our wedding. Super easy to organise and on the day the band and callers were lovely. Adapted very quickly when everyone was getting too hot and we managed to do the rest of the sets outside which was amazing."

"Dermot’s music was one of the highlights of our wedding day. Having moved our wedding from Ireland to the UK due to Covid, we really wanted to capture the emotion and essence of an Irish wedding, and the music and drinks reception were perfect! During our walk down the aisle there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Beforehand Dermot organised zoom rehearsal with my sister in law so she could sing alongside him confidently during the ceremony and I know she was extremely grateful. The impromptu singalong during the drinks reception was a highlight for so many of us (and staff at the venue!). Dermot was professional, courteous, flexible and my only regret was that we had to leave the drinks reception to for the wedding breakfast! We are so grateful to him and could not recommend him enough."

The dance floor was always full – thanks to your amazing music, and the order of songs planned perfectly!! We have had so many compliments about how amazing you were since our day. You accommodated the needs of the venue and made it completely stress-free. You also made us feel like it was all about us as you were really flexible with the schedule to fit around our evening.
