"We are so grateful to Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio for making our fundraising ceilidh a great success with delightful music and dancing. The level of challenge of the dances was pitched just right to tempt our guests (who were aged from 4 to 84) to have a go – and they all came away with big smiles on their faces! Phil – the band’s friendly caller – gave just the right amount of instruction and then a quick recap before each dance and was happy to adapt dances to suit some of the children. Arrangements and payment were all handled professionally and efficiently. Thank you so much for helping us raise over £300 for our cause!"

"Just a quick note to thank you and your band for an absolutely outstanding evening last Saturday at our annual Burns Supper. I have every admiration for you and how well you managed to shepherd a herd of cats around the dance floor and the fact that the dance floor was still packed until the finish was testament to your professionalism. "We had an amazing night thanks to Blue Jewel. Our international students had never seen or heard of a ceilidh before, but after a little convincing they joined in with the first dance. By the time it came to the second dance, they all wanted to join in and then danced for hours. The band were so great at explaining what to do, especially to students who are learning English, and making them laugh - plus playing wonderful lively music! "

"The three chaps that make up this band were fantastic on the night, I've had nothing but compliments from the many people in attendance. The music they played was perfect, my 80 year old Irish father who's party it was hasn't stopped smiling since Saturday night. They actually learnt a song which is one of his favourites for the night. And it went down very well. I would recommend the lads to my friends and family events in the future for sure. Many thanks. "I should say how much I enjoyed the ceilidh and your superb playing. It was a delight to both listen and dance to. You all have an extraordinary ability to drive the music whilst retaining an intricate coherence to it all – quite remarkable when you play without drums.
