The night was a huge success and that was largely in part of yourselves. You received loads of compliments from our guests and a number of people have asked for your details so safe to say you were a hit! We both felt you handled the night excellently, judging the crowd just right and keeping the dancefloor full. Everyone had aching muscles the next day! "I’m sorry I did not get the chance to speak to you yesterday, so I wanted to say thank you for the beautiful music you played for my Dad’s funeral. There had been miscommunication and the mourners were gathered outside the chapel rather than at the gate. Nevertheless it made the sad occasion very special to all of us to hear the Scottish pipes leading my Dad on his final journey, and it will be a cherished memory for me always. Thank you again."

"I just have to thank Black Velvet Band for the great job they did at my 70th birthday ceilidh in Bristol on 24th June. I had such a great time, and that was partly down to the three of them working hard, and giving us great music to dance to. I danced every dance and enjoyed it so much. When the caller was explaining how to reel I thought, "Uh oh, this'll be fun!" and it certainly was ... I haven't laughed so much in ages. So, well done everyone involved, and if we ever have another I'll be sure to contact you again."

"What a treat it was to have Ruby come and entertain the Homeowners on the 20th June 2020 in the grounds of Brueton Place. Not only is she a Great Entertainer her warmth and happy personality is a joy. She has something for all age groups, and you certainly go home singing a tune and with a spring in your step. Highly recommend the lovely Ruby."

"Just a quick note to thank you for playing at the wedding of my daughter Emma and Nathaniel's wedding on the 29th December at the Old Swan Hotel. Iam sorry that I was unable to catch you on the evening and express my thanks as the ceilidh capped a wonderful day. For many of the guests this was their first experience of a ceilidh as we had guests from Australia, Japan, Switzerland and Canada. They/we loved it and you made the dance routines very clear with your instructions. Those that could no dance really the live music. Please pass on my gratitude to the other musicians.
