"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Amanda’s 60th Birthday Ceilidh – December 2025 Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio played at a ceilidh to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was actually the fourth time they have played at events for my family over the last ten years, and I’m hoping to have them again in future. It was a wonderful afternoon. The band’s music was cheery and infectious and soon got people dancing enthusiastically, including guests aged from five to 85 and those who had previously warned me that they wouldn’t be able to dance because of knee problems! Phil is a fantastic dance caller who makes ceilidh dancing easy and a pleasure even for those who have never done it before. We all really appreciated his clear instructions about each dance. This, together with Black Velvet’s expert musicianship made the ceilidh very enjoyable and huge fun. I can’t wait to do it again! Thanks so much."

"Most of all, we wanted to let you know that we loved the band and their music...they were just as good as I'd hoped they would be and they were very easy and pleasant company. Those that did hear and experience the music did love it and thought it added a lovely vibe to the party. Thankyou to Last Minute Music also for your excellent customer service and very smart booking procedure through the website. You've been so easy to communicate with, both through the messages via email and the website but also by phone and it's actually been a really stress-free part of organising a party that meant a lot to us. You've been so helpful and friendly, it felt like a breath of fresh air doing business with you. We'd highly recommend you to any friends or family we know who need some music for an event. Would you please let the band know we would also do the same for them. They were great! We wish you continued success with the business which enables live music to survive and thrive ..something we all need in our lives. "

"Well what can I say. It was perfect. The three guys were the perfect start to a 40th birthday party celebration (that ended at 4am!? They were friendly and professional plus excellent musicians pitching the right music at the right time ending the sets with the party on their feet dancing. "'Swing Gitan UK joined the Nottingham Jazz Orchestra on the bill of the Christmas Jazz Fest last weekend. Having seen Swing Gitan a number of times, I have always been massively impressed with the musical and technical ability of all members of the band. Their music would sound at home on the streets or riverbank walkways of Paris, but we were lucky enough for them to join us for a unique lineup of bands. Within just a few bars of their first number, (insert what you played first here, I can't remember, sorry lol), it is clear to all that Elliott Lewis and Wayne Jefferies, who take the positions as guitarists within the band, are masters of their instruments and faithfully re-create the music of Django Reinhardt, but adding their own style to numbers such as Minor Swing, Blue Bossa, and Undecided. Joined by bassist Rob Coates and James Tolhurst completing the lineup, their enthusiasm is infectious and the music always driving. If you ever get the chance to catch these guys doing a set, you will not be disappointed!' "
