"We booked Jonny for our Italian themed wedding in July and he was absolutely amazing! He learned a new song for the bridal walk down the aisle and communication with Jonny in the lead up to the wedding was second to none. Jonny made our day really special and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough! "

"We came across Swing Gitan at the Nottingham Contemporary and were both taken by their energetic and uplifting sound delivered in a skilled and playful fashion. Since then we have had the pleasure of seeing quite a few of their gigs and never been disappointed and so when we were considering who to book for our wedding last august the choice was easy. We wanted music for music lovers that people could also dance to and were no disappointed. The whole process of booking the band and arranging the specifics as well as asking them to learn the Waltz that we intended to dance to was just really straight forward and pleasurable which was certainly helped by Elliott’s easygoing ways and quiet confidence that this would turn out the way we had hoped. We feel very lucky and blessed to have had the good fortune together such good people for our wedding occasion and the presence of Swing Gitan was a large part of that. Indeed, it was a testament to the success of the band that people of all backgrounds and ages loved their performances and demonstrated this through dancing, shouting and cheering throughout the night. Needless to say, we would highly recommend this band to anyone seeking a great sounding and quirky gypsy jazz band! "

"Superb musicians! Very atmospheric music which is great as background music but equally (in our case) suited to getting everyone whirling around on the dance floor with fast paced gypsy jazz numbers! Really made my party go with a swing and I can't recommend these guys highly enough. Thank you so much."

"Such a wonderful band, and would definitely have them again. Everyone enjoyed the dancing even if they were just watching. Even my husband who never dances joined in and is now a ceilidh addict. 10/10! Highly recommend! "

"We booked the Black Velvet Band Gypsy Duo (accordion and fiddle) to play at our wedding celebration garden party in August. Mike and Jase played exactly the music we wanted, a lovely mix of traditional, modern, jazz, Irish and were happy to play requests. We live on a farm and when the duo started up, all our cows came running up the field and stayed close to enjoy the lovely sounds coming from the garden. I have to say, the two were perfect for our garden party and the sound of the fiddle and accordion ringing out into the evening was absolutely lovely and was thoroughly enjoyed by our guests whose ages ranged from six to ninety! Mike and Jase are lovely, affable chaps and we should have no hesitation in booking them again if we have another “do”! I highly recommend them. "

"Oscar and Dominic did an outstanding job at our wedding. We had quite a few requests, which they learnt quickly and then performed beautifully. We had an outdoors ceremony, which had to be moved inside during the drinks reception due to rain, then relocated again to a different building. Oscar and Dom moved their equipment very quickly to ensure our guests were kept entertained throughout. Both very friendly, professional and punctual, I would happily recommend them to anyone and hire them again if required."

"I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say how fantastic the band were at our wedding at Christmas. They 'read the room' perfectly, and delivered an excellent performance that created a great atmosphere and got the room dancing! Their unique style of delivering well known songs with a gypsy / folk twist was really well received as they didn't try to replicate the song exactly- making them less of a cover band which was just what we wanted. They were also super easy to work with and really relaxed on the day. The fact they also learnt a new song for our first dance was really special! I would not hesitate to recommend them! "

"I liked the fact that when booking it was 'relaxed' in that it was not too rigid with the timing. Unfortunate that Hannah was sick but this made no difference to my party as Sarah -Jane stepped in. Again flexibility (on both sides) resulted in a great performance - we received lots of compliments only downside was that we were unable to listen as much as we would have liked to .... There's always a next time. ..... We and especially our guests thoroughly enjoyed the performance - very happy to recommend . Ann & Antonio "

"The band were absolutely fantastic at our wedding. Perfect in every way, both for those who just wanted to sit and listen with a drink, and for those who wanted to dance and be silly (which was pretty much everyone, by the end). They were wonderful from start to finish!"
