"Our family just wanted to thank you and the band who played at Lindsay's wedding on Saturday night.Everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly, and the ceilidh was a perfect way of mixing the London youngsters with scots and Irish families.Your wife was very helpful in keeping things under control, especially at the end when the Barbican were initially reluctant to allow the power back on when the noise limiter was triggered.My cousin has already booked you for a birthday bash next June in the Wheatsheaf, so we look forward to get into training for another reeling occasion!"

"This is the 3rd year we have had the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band play for our event. They really add to the event in terms of the atmosphere, structure and fun they bring. We were sold out of tickets in the lead up to the event as people eagerly anticipated our annual ceilidh. The band are professional and talented. They brought some great dances which we had not seen before and some old favourites. We are already talking about next year's event with them!"

"Ardverikie Ceilidh Band played for our 40th birthday (70 adults + 20 kids). They were brilliant. The caller gave clear instructions and plenty of encouragement and was undaunted by the chaos of a squad of kids. The fiddle playing and guitar were excellent, and the musicians had the judgement to know when to give the crowd a rest and mix in instrumental sets and songs. In short, they put on a great Ceilidh, are absolute professionals and their version of the song “the Queen of Argyle” made my night."

"Everybody had a great time. We all felt it was a very happy, sociable and relaxed evening. My parents are celebrating their 60th birthday next year and are now really excited about having a similar event. Friends have rung to say they had a great evening and haven't laughed so much in ages!! Thank you. I shall recommend you highly to everyone I know."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / Claire’s 60th Birthday / May 2025 Black Velvet Trio were absolutely perfect for the barn dance we hosted. The trio were cool, calm and professional in their ability to literally herd cats! They were able to bring a huge smile to every face which was always my wish. The musicians were brilliant at just playing wonderful barn dance music whilst we laughed and bumped and crashed about with our two and sometimes three left feet. Our last (came too quick) dance was the Swiss Roll. We all loved it and would be so happy to have Black Velvet Trio back to do it all again."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 16/07/2021 / Cecilia and Johny’s Wedding Mike and the Black Velvet Band played at our wedding and put together a fantastic set. They had very thoughtfully come up with some more Covid secure dances to cater for people wishing to stay in their respective bubbles but managed to maintain the energy and enthusiasm throughout. The music was brilliant and the calling was the best that I’ve seen at a ceilidh (a difficult skill to perfect!). We did 6 or 7 dances and the band very considerately asked how we (my wife and I) would like to lead the dances to ensure plenty of people engaged but we had no concerns as everyone joined in. All of our guests were delighted and we can’t thank the band for stepping in at relatively short notice, we had a brilliant time."

Several people stopped me and Elaine saying WHAT a GREAT GROUP you are. I cannot thank you enough for your brilliant musicianship?? You really did us and your selves proud . "We booked Kellys Heroes to play at our wedding earlier this year and we were not disappointed! Everyone at our wedding was up on the dance floor, dancing for the entire set, they're great musicians with a great set list. I think all of our guests could have gone on for the rest of the night. Everyone still tells us that it was one of the highlights of any wedding they've been to. Thank you! "

"Another musician recommended Rachel, and I'm so pleased that he did! Rachel was joined by Matt Coyte (percussion), and their duo was perfect for our mini festival. The music was mainly fairly recent covers, 90's/00's, from Pink to Katy Perry to Snow Patrol. They turned up on time, very friendly and professional. They were very accommodating to our guests - from kids having a sing along on their mic, to well oiled grown ups joining them too! The booking process and communications before hand were easy - all over email, and very efficient. Absolutely 10/10 - we will book for next year if we can! Thanks Rachel!"

Your efforts were hugely appreciated and so many of the guests came up to me to say what an excellent band you are and how they enjoyed dancing to your music. You made my evening very easy taking over the timings and announcements, and yourchoice of music was very popular. Thank you again for giving us such a memorable evening of dancing in a really rather splendid venue!"
