"It was indeed a great night! With thanks to you and the rest of the band. I'm working on putting a little video up on You Tube, if that's OK. Nothing visually terrific from the night as the venue is a little on the 'bijou' side, if you get the 'estate agent' parlance, with the tables an' all, but I'll see if I can put some clips in and 'pad out' with a few still shots from here & there... "Ben is an incredibly talented musician. Our venue was too small for the full band so Ben played at the Church and at the drinks reception alone. He composed a piece of music for us, and guests came up to us throughout the evening and even the day afterwards to tell us how moving the music was and how interesting and accommodating Ben was when asked questions about his unusual looking equipment! We loved him so much we immediately booked him to play at our next event. Highly recommend. "

"Oh what a night it was! Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio was the perfect choice for a celebration. They chose dances that matched the skill and enthusiasm of my guests. Setting the right pace is good when lots of guests belong to a running club! Guests from Hong Kong, Greece, Vietnam China and USA had no idea what they were coming to … The band arrived on time, setting up easily and Phil’s friendly manner of instruction was just right. My 6 year old niece (who is VERY shy) shocked her mother by joining the dancing! Lovely comments from guests: “I haven’t danced like that in years” and ” The most fun and dis-organised chaos I’ve had in ages!”"

"Hi Gordon, We can't begin to thank you and the band enough for making Friday such a special evening. Helen was really looking forward to dancing with all her friends and the music you played certainly made people want to get up and join in, even oldies like me. Thank you also for managing the ceilidh dancing so well in a very restricted amount of space. We had expected just a few people to take part but were overwhelmed by the numbers and the enthusiasm. Helen had forewarned a number of her friends about the dances we were having so a few had taken advantage of the YouTube tutorials available but the success was all down to yourself. We both realised that you played for much longer than initially envisaged so thank you very much for that. Best wishes!"

"Black Velvet Band Irish Duo yet again provided fantastic music at our Christmas party. The duo are so flexible and helpful - this year they played quite a few Scottish reels etc for our Highland Themed Party which was perfect. The vibe was also just right and got lots of people up and dancing. It was a key contribution to the overall atmosphere. Please thank them for me. I highly recommend them! "

"Thoroughly recommend Kip and the band, who made my birthday party such a fun evening. Great, easy communication from Kip when planning the event and on the night. The ceilidh was excellent, the calling nice and clear, and everyone had lots of fun, including the little ones—who Kip made sure could join in alongside everyone else. The fact that most people danced (nearly) every dance says how good the ceilidh was!"

"We celebrated the end of our sailing season with a Ceilidh on Saturday. It was a brilliant night - Blue Jewel were great. We had a room full of all ages (8 to 86 as far as I am aware) and everyone in the room was smiling and laughing and the dance floor was never empty. I can't recommend anything better for a good party."

"We had seen the Band before at a School fund raising Barn Dance in Newton Ferrers. They were superb then and they were again at our Twinning Barn Dance. There are plenty of good Bands around for Barn Dances but this Band brings a few extras. Not only are they first class instrumentalists but they have great callers. They even speak French! We have no hesitation in rating them 10/10. "
