"Amazing night with joyous music from the band from start to finish. Very accommodating for our age span of 8 years to 80 years! Plenty of caller participation to get us all going in fun dances which everyone said made them ache the next day! I heartily recommend them. Very friendly too! "

"Blue Jewel Ceilidh made my parents' 40th anniversary a roaring success! They were punctual, extremely organised, and so very talented. Excellent callers had everyone dancing, laughing and having fun and the music was fabulous. They played well known dances and some new ones which were great. They were also brilliant as they played beautiful interim music whenever needed to give people a chance to catch their breath and have a drink but not miss any dances if they wished. They gave us extra dances at the end and a few people have already taken their details for further events. A superb find, fantastic value and thank you so much. We will definitely be contacting you again in the future!"

"Thank you Blue Jewel! We had had a fantastic wedding day which culminated in a ceilidh, not everyone's choice of course - until they experience the Blue Jewel phenomenon! You had to be very determined to NOT dance to avoid this. Kip is a brilliant caller - patient and knowledgeable. On the odd occasion when everyone was too tired to dance the band just played on anyway, the music was simply delightful in its own right. We are very lucky to have such a talented band in the west country, I would not hesitate to use these guys again- if you have an event coming up book them before they become world famous and never play locally again! "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Quartet – Linda Duly’s Retirement Party – April 2026 We had a great evening of Ceilidh dancing with Black Velvet providing the entertainment. Around 50 of us with little or no experience had so much fun – loads of smiles and happy faces! Thanks Black Velvet Band."

"Thank you so much for playing at our wedding - you were fantastic and we had a wonderful time dancing with our guests! The evening was perfect, everything we had wished for. Everyone said how much they enjoyed it and you could really tell from all the laughing and smiling that the guests were having a great time. Some people had never been to a ceilidh before and I think they are now hooked! The music was wonderful and we really appreciated you playing some French folk dances for the French side of the family. From the moment we got in touch with you we knew you were the right band choice, as you were so friendly and professional. You went out of your way to make sure the evening went as planned. Thank you especially for letting us steal you away from your set-up to play us a few maypole tunes and for staying and helping us with the after ceilidh disco. Wishing you lots of good luck in the future and if we ever plan another ceilidh we know who to call!"
