Review Centre: Barn Dance Bands

"What an amazing band! I’ve heard bands which are great at the Scottish ceilidh stuff but not very good at any other styles. I’ve heard bands which are great at pop/rock/country/indie covers but couldn’t play a ceilidh dance to save their lives. You guys are amazing! You can play all the Scottish ceilidh stuff AND make it rocky AND play all these other styles from pop to rock to country to whatever! Amazing! "

"Rastrum arrived with plenty of time to set up and prepare for our party. It was a fabulous evening which was made possible by the band. The music was fun and lively and almost every person in the hall danced all night. Thank you so much and I would highly recommend them for your next barn dance."

"Charlotte and I just wanted to say a big thank you to your band for Saturday night! They brought so much fun and energy to the party. Your accordion player was a brilliant addition to the 12 Days of Christmas song and it made the perfect transition from dinner into the reeling. It was the first time I've seen reeling before and it looked like so much fun, I wanted to join in! Please pass on our thanks to your team. I appreciate it was a difficult set up with the two rooms and only having speakers in one room, but they made it work really well, so thank you for being flexible. Hope you all have a great Christmas and I will definitely recommend you to future clients who would like reeling at their wedding or party"

"Just a quick note to thank you for playing at the wedding of my daughter Emma and Nathaniel's wedding on the 29th December at the Old Swan Hotel. Iam sorry that I was unable to catch you on the evening and express my thanks as the ceilidh capped a wonderful day. For many of the guests this was their first experience of a ceilidh as we had guests from Australia, Japan, Switzerland and Canada. They/we loved it and you made the dance routines very clear with your instructions. Those that could no dance really the live music. Please pass on my gratitude to the other musicians. We are a befriending service providing support and activities for the over 50s to promote social inclusion and independent living. As part of our Active Steps programme which offers weekly dance classes across Plymouth, we organise one-off events including ceilidhs. Blue Jewel always bring out the best in our participants with their great music and friendly, approachable manner - it is the highlight of our year! "

"Just to say a big thank you to the band for the fantastic ceilidh at Clare and Tony’s wedding in Anglesey. It was a real hit and everyone absolutely loved it. The music was great and the calling was excellent. It was the first ceilidh for quite a few people and you were very patient! "We had such a brilliant night! The dances were well chosen with fun and covid in mind. Paul gave good explanations for the dances which helped alot. The band were very flexible and friendly when we were running late. Also the music was incredible! Wonderful band that got everyone dancing! "
