"Well, we went along to the Clutha benefit gig in The Classic Grand, there were such a choice of great bands to choose from on 2 floors, The Mrs & myself were downstairs as it was mostly rock bands and we had a seat, so the bands changed again & again until I heard the next band was a Ceilidh band, quite a few were looking around sort of laughing as if how’s this gonna fit in with the night, so there's now quite a few people sitting down waiting, so on comes as expected the usual accordion,fiddle,drummer & guitarist set up, and then it began, the accordion started then in came the fiddle then this electric rock guitar and ass kicking rock drum beat, and low and behold before you know it everybody's on their feet standing poking their heads up and down to see who the hell was making this amazingly blended sound of rock & Scottish folk, the accordion player’s fingers were impossible to track as they rolled up and down the board, and the fiddle was just about glowing to match, topped off with a great guitar and drums, with bits of Pink Floyd through to Miley Cyrus flung in, hard to believe but true, and all served up for your ears to savour at 100 mph, the whole place became electric, it was amazing to listen to and stunning to watch, I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed this band, We got talking to David (the accordion player) and his family afterwards and found him such a laugh & such a nice family, highlight of the night, so thanks to The Shooglers your time & talent is very well spent and it shows, cheers. "

"We had a great night. They certainly made us exercise and it was sooooo hot! Everyone really enjoyed themselves - there was lots of laughter. Unfortunately, it is apparent that we are quite uncoordinated!"

"Hello Philip, This is Heather Clark I booked you last year, for a 60th birthday party at Newtongrange Mining Museum which was a fantastic night and Stuart whose party it was loved every moment of it especially when he dressed up as Elvis ..you and the other members of your band were fantastic with all the special people who were at the party ..would it be possible to book you again for a lady we support who will be 80 in July and its being held at St Matthews hall in Rosewell its a bigger hall but I think the 4 piece would be good ..hope to hear from you soon."

"Lyra Strings played at our wedding ceremony, and she was absolutely incredible. She was more than happy to learn a few of our favorite songs that weren’t on her usual setlist, and her communication in the lead-up to the event was always warm, professional, and helpful. On the day, she exceeded all our expectations—I lost count of the number of guests who complimented her performance! One of my most treasured moments was walking down the aisle while she played ‘Halo’ by Beyoncé. Now I just need another big occasion so I have an excuse to book her again! Highly, highly recommended. "

"I just wanted to write to say thank you so much for yesterday evening, I have had so many messages since saying how much they all enjoyed it and have now had requests for a reeling club at school and also 3 of those older (naughty!) boys asking about your details as they would like to have a reeling party! I think my mission was to convert a few people so job done I’d say. You were very patient with us all!"

"The best band I have ever had the pleasure to have met. Everyone at the wedding commented on how brilliant the band were. They interacted with the crowd and let our friend play along side them. I hope to be able to hire them again in the future."

"We've seen the Shamrock Experience twice and loved their music. Don't be deceived by their name. They aren't all about Irish jigs - more folk with a rock twist - think Seth Lakeman - esque..."
