"I booked Black Velvet Band Irish Duo for my Mum’s 80th. It was a small family gathering in the back garden. The band were fantastic and even my mum was up dancing. It was a rare and happy sight!"

"Dear Fiddlestix, A huge thank you to the band for providing such an amazing, unforgettable ceilidh for our wedding celebrations at the Telegraph in Putney. We were blown away by the absolutely fabulous music and, to Sarah, a special thank you for your expertise and patience with all our family and friends. Everyone, be they young or old, shy or willing, natural dancers or rhythmically challenged, had an absolute ball and we've had loads of feedback from guests saying it was the highpoint of the evening. "I'd just like to say a HUGE thank you to Michael and the band for performing at our special Anniversary Ceilidh in Bristol last month. Everyone had so much fun, I'm definitely glad that we found a real Scottish Ceilidh band. The calling was especially good as we had rather a few newbies to Ceilidh's, the gradual increase of pace was just perfect."

"The Captain’s Beard played an incredible set! We were dancing all night. They’re a thoroughly entertaining group and excellent musicians. They can deliver a completely authentic sounding sea shanty as well as performing traditional maritime songs in a completely modern style! "
