"The band were an absolute delight, just the right mix of professional musicians and informal enough to mix in with people and jolly them along. They were completely marvellous and everyone had a great time, even though some people had never done ceilidh dancing before and were a little shy."

"It's No Reel were absolutely fantastic! Tom made all of the pre-wedding arrangements very easy and he was very accommodating with our timings and choice of first dance. They were absolute pros from the start, the set up was seamless and they really had an amazing sense of the room and how to engage everyone. The music itself was fantastic and really filled the room creating such a wonderful ambience for the rest of the evening. We had guests that had never been to a ceilidh dance before and they loved it and found the instructions really easy to follow. We really enjoyed the little quirky Michael Jackson tribute in one of the dances and some of the interesting variations of the dances we had never done before. The mini disco at the end was also brilliant and completely on point with the music I had suggested. We would highly recommend It's No Reel!"

"Hi Davie, Hope you and the guys got home safely last night. Davie, what can I say, you guys are the most amazing team, the whole night was absolutely fantastic, couldn't have asked for anything better. Only problem was I ran out of shoogleness and had to get a breather and realised I was missing more while I was outside, what a bummer! Please be assured that I will be giving out loads of Shoogly recommendations, and I hope very much to hire your services again at some time in the future! All the very best to you all for the future. "Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio performed at a surprise party for my wife’s 60th Birthday recently. It was intended to be a function at which people could be fully involved and Boy! Did they do just that! I honestly cannot remember such a function where all of the guests were agreed it was an evening to remember that was also such fun. The whole success of the celebration came from the bands active participation and willingness to do everything possible to make the evening into a night to remember. That, they surely did. Thank you Black Velvet Ceilidh Band. You and the band made my wife very, very happy. She will not forget and neither will I. You are indeed very special musicians and very special people. May I wish you all well."

"Blue Jewel played for the final evening of the International Conference for Research in Music Education, at Reed hall (Exeter University). Despite the very excitable and large group (100+) the band managed to get everyone dancing a lovely variety of simple dances including French and Russian ones. The balance of instruments worked really well in the space (not overpowering) and KIp, the caller. did a great job. "

"The Irish Violinist was wonderful. Such a talented Violinist. No fuss, turned up early and set everything up very efficiently. The sounds quality was amazing. It was a surprise for my grandparents and they loved it. She played their song for them, and my grandmother nearly missed it! When she arrived back she kindly played it for them again so they could dance to it. It was a beautiful moment. There was 11 of for the private dinner party. Every guest said that it made the evening. I would highly recommend and would book again in a heart beat!"
