"Having just recovered physically (although not financially) from the wedding, I thought it appropriate to send you a quick email to thank you for your support on Saturday evening. I felt it was a resounding success and everyone enjoyed the entertainment, which was excellent, Please pass on my thanks to the caller and all the musicians involved. "This band are the best in the west! Kip is a brilliant caller - he puts people at their ease and makes it all such fun. Musically the band are top notch - Steve is a brilliant fiddler and they are all so on it and experienced that you know you are in very safe hands. I would recommend them very highly. "

"What an amazing band! I’ve heard bands which are great at the Scottish ceilidh stuff but not very good at any other styles. I’ve heard bands which are great at pop/rock/country/indie covers but couldn’t play a ceilidh dance to save their lives. You guys are amazing! You can play all the Scottish ceilidh stuff AND make it rocky AND play all these other styles from pop to rock to country to whatever! Amazing! "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Vincent McLaughlin’s Birthday Ceilidh – November 2025 We had a lovely evening which was made possible by the brilliance of the Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio. Everyone thought their musicianship was excellent and the caller was very good at helping get people dancing. From young to old everyone had a great evening."

"Steve and the band were excellent on the night and the caller got everybody up and dancing and was part of the dance rather than just shouting instructions from the sidelines. Great fun was had by all! They even hepled out with playing our first dance track through their PA system when we could not get tyhe hotel one to connect. Would recommend this band. "

"Dear Mick, Thank you very much to you and your band for playing at our barn dance (15th November 2025 Saturday The Claire Tiltman Centre, Gantry Place, Cotton Lane, Stone, Greenhithe, DA9 9FA}. All our guests had a wonderful time and most of them have said how good the band was and how clear and easy to follow the caller was. Mary managed to get even the most reluctant up and dancing with enough confidence to take part. We shall certainly recommend you, should anyone ask for your details.
