"Black Velvet Band Irish Trio - Cheltenham Gold Cup - March 2025 Absolutely brilliant band - everybody loved them! We booked the band to play at The Three Lions, Stourport-on-Severn on Gold Cup Day 2025 and didn't regret the decision. They came in set up and started playing straight away and immediately the dance floor was full. We were turning people away at the door as the pub was full to the brim! They played to the crowd and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well. "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Katherine’s 50th Birthday Ceilidh – April 2025 I booked Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio for my wife’s 50th Birthday barn dance. The booking process and communication was great. On the night, from the off, everyone was up dancing. The instructions were great and they really got us all into the spirit. Lots of comments from our friends about how good they were. Thanks to all for an amazing night of music and dance. Would definitely recommend."

"What can I say? The band was brilliant. Great vocals from Johnny, ably supported by Mike on fiddle and Eddy on accordion. By the end of the night everyone was dancing and calling for more. "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio provided a brilliant ceilidh for our wedding celebrations at Goldney Hall, Bristol on 12 August 2017. What a fantastic evening! The band entertained our hardy Scottish guests with well-known Scottish dances but it was most enjoyable to see English friends and family ceilidh dancing for the first time and loving it! The dances were called very clearly and were quite ambitious so there was much hilarity. It was infectious fun and everyone got involved. (The dance floor was almost too small!) Mike and the band were extremely accommodating, professional and enthusiastic. The band has a huge repertoire and organised the evening flawlessly, from our first dance (Gay Gordons) to the throwing of the bouquet and the final Circassian Circle. Highly recommended. Thanks again for a fantastic evening of fun!"

"Wow, what a fantastic evening. Steve and his band were brilliant. A fun a lively evening was had by all. Everyone joined in and in all the photos EVERYONE is laughing. We raised money for the Shaw Trust which is great. Would 100% recommend the band. Thank you. "

"Hi I had Lisa play for us at our wedding in December '13. She is an amazingly talented musician and very easy to work with when organising the music for the church and reception. We had some ideas of our own and Lisa was able to play the songs we requested as well as recommending a few more that beautiful on the day. She incorporated the harp and banjo into our requested songs and she has a voice that has to be heard to be believed! Lisa's music helped to create a very special atmosphere and made our day even more memorable! I could not recommend more highly!"

"We booked Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio for a sixtieth birthday party. Very much a family event, so all ages including children, who particularly enjoyed it, although everyone had a really great time. One of the parents told me that her little one has decided that a ceilidh is the very best kind of birthday party, so the bar was set high for all future birthdays there! A few people knew the dances already, but most didn’t, and our caller guided us through each dance so that everyone could join in the fun! The atmosphere was lovely, and the musicians were impressive, plus really lovely people who were accommodating, helpful and great fun. I would definitely recommend them; they were fantastic, and the whole evening was an absolute joy. The only thing now is to find a good reason to do it all again!"

"Thank you so much for playing the bagpipes for us on the 18th October 2019; it was one of the best decisions I made for the wedding! Tom was very surprised along with all the guests - and I only managed to let slip the secret a few times! We're still waiting on our wedding videos and I'm very excited to watch my dream of walking down the aisle to bagpipes all over again.
