"Hi Tad Thank you all so much for playing at our wedding reception. The music was fantastic (great to listen to outside as well as for those dancing). You were great at encouraging everyone to join in. We had a lot of reluctant dancers in the room who leapt in and had a great time, including both of our Dads and two teenage boys! Everyone felt that the moves were explained in a really accessible way for the many beginners! It was such a wonderful way to start married life. We'll definitely recommend you to anyone looking for a ceilidh band. Many thanks Elliot and Sarah"

"Well done and thank you to all of you for making our Excellence Awards night at the Cafe de Paris such a success. We were flooded with compliments about the night and in particular the entertainment - absolutely brilliant! Apart from that you were one the nicest group of people we have ever worked with - you were all a pleasure and talented too! if there were more like you in corporate entertainment my job over the years would have been so much easier! "Everybody loved the music and everyone had so much fun having a go at the dances – everyone was pleasantly surprised as some people had no idea what to expect! I hope you enjoyed playing and hope you managed to have some food and drinks! Anyway, thanks again – you guys were great and so much fun – we are even considering having another party next year as everyone loved it so much!"

" This is the third year we have had the pleasure of Black Velvet Band providing our entertainment for Burns Night. Once again it was an absolutely fantastic night had by all, with everyone thoroughly enjoying the dancing. Great explanations throughout and lots of fun. "“We booked Ceilidh Max for my 50th birthday bash! They were totally professional from start to finish ! The music was authentic and perfectly matched the crowd. A packed floor for all the dances and everyone has been messaging to say what a great night ! I would highly recommend anyone to book them . You won’t be disappointed and you will be assured of a night to remember . Just brilliant and a great craic !!"

"Each year our section hold a rally. Each year we visit a different location alternating between the UK and Europe. It was my turn to organise a weeks rally in the UK, and I chose the Two Bridges Hotel near Princetown as our base. We needed some form of entertainment for our Gala Night. Our group are in the in main middle fifties and some over eighty so the last thing we need was a rock group. I had some opposition when I suggested a Folk group but I prevailed and have to say that tracking down a band was in the area was extremely difficult. Typing a search in Google for local folk groups resulted in names almost everywhere except in the West Country. Eventually I contacted Blue Jewel and Steve convinced me that they could adapt to our needs. Every single person enjoyed the groups performance, there were 62 people there and almost every single one said how much they enjoyed the group. As the organiser I was greatly impressed by the way they accommodated our requirements and we had a brilliant night. Thank you Blue Jewel Chris. "For 13 years I have coordinated highly successful ceilidh dances in Bishopbriggs High School and now the new Bishopbriggs Academy. These Christmas dances are the culmination of 3 weeks of social dance with all year groups and it it a priority of mine that we have live music to create an upbeat atmosphere. I consider it part of my job to ensure these traditional dances are taught in school in a way pupils will enjoy and will perpetuate. This year I secured the services of The Shooglers for our S5/6 dance. The evening was a fantastic success and enjoyed immensely by pupils and staff alike. The band worked a perfect blend of traditional Scottish dance tunes with contemporary music the pupils are familiar with, which heightened their participation in – and positive attitude to – “social dancing”. I have already asked the band to perform at next year’s S5/6 dance in the school. I know it will be a special occasion. I recommend The Shooglers unreservedly to anyone hosting school dances, weddings or any kind of function. "
