"Surprise 50th birthday party - Blue Jewel were amazing kept everyone entertained from 16- 76 year olds! Kip was a brilliant caller making the dances seem effortless. Most fun we've had in a long time,highly recommended!"

"We would like to say thank you again for playing at our wedding last month, you really added something special to the celebration. From the earliest planning stages it was very important to me that we would have a piper playing some of the tunes I knew from all the Highland Games my dad took me to as a youngster. I had the window open in the room at the hotel where I was getting ready so I could hear you clearly. You were brilliant on the day, going above and beyond the call of duty throughout, and were glad we chose you. It was very good of you to stay on as long as you did. We hadn't even considered being piped into the meal, but it was a lovely way to introduce the next part of the day. Very best wishes, and thanks again. Neil & Anna. PS: Thanks for "Hector the Hero". "We cannot thank Blue Jewel enough for giving us such a fun-filled, memorable evening. The four-piece band were excellent; we thoroughly enjoyed the variety of music. The blessing dance was a real favourite! The caller was fantastic at encouraging and directing everybody on the dance floor. So many of our friends and family commented on how wonderful the ceilidh was. We would highly recommend Blue Jewel to anyone in need of talented, enthusiastic and friendly band. Thank you once again for making our wedding reception the happiest of occasions."

"My birthday ceilidh was extremely enjoyable and the band played a large part in setting and sustaining a lively and very jolly atmosphere! It certainly wasn't hard to get people on their feet and dancing and Alan's calling was clear and simple enough to follow, though, of course, not everyone managed to do so absolutely all the time. A great and memorable evening. Many thanks to Black Velvet"

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Georgina’s Wedding Ceilidh – July 2025 The band were a great edition to our wedding party event. They arrived on time and had no issues setting up independently with minimal direction from us as hosts. They gave good directions in terms of getting us started with a first dance, and set the tone for the two sets they played perfectly – giving great instructions to the mostly complete novice crowd present, with a good dose of humour alongside. Everyone there from small children through to retirees was able to participate. I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again for a future event, or to recommend them to others."
