"The band were absolutely fantastic; the music was superb, the caller for the dances just bossy enough to get everybody up (exactly what I wanted), they arrived on time, were set up on time and were friendly and helpful and entered into the spirit of our event. I couldn't have asked for better. Thank you so much."

"I recently booked a duo from the band to play at my mum’s wedding in Bolton. They were brilliant. I would recommend this group to anyone who wishes to make their wedding a special event and really liven up the evening. Don’t bother with a DJ, what a waste of money. There were only 40 people at the evening reception, but Shamus and Danny really livened up the group and got them up singing and dancing. I only wish I had another event up and coming, so I could book them again."

"Thank you and the band for great music which made the whole evening quite special. All the ages enjoyed themselves and in particular the younger people who had never attended a ceilidh before and had such a good evening. So many people commented on what an inclusive evening it was for all ages. Lots of great memories "

"Having a Ceilidh band and a caller will absolutely make your event. There are two things my family and friends talk about when they talk about my wedding: the Ceilidh and our magician. So first off, going for a Ceilidh really is worthwhile. It's super inclusive, all your guests end up dancing together, it's so much fun, loads of laughter and it means EVERYONE is on the dancefloor. So now you're sold on a Ceilidh... you need to think no further than hiring Sound With Us. I have had 70 guests of varying physical abilities, varying ages (from 2 months to 75 years old) and of various languages spoken.... The caller was incredible: fun but also very patient and very visual, repeating instructions as many times as necessary. Also unexpected on the day, one of the member of the band knew a very famous French song which (me being Belgian) meant that my whole family got up and sang with him. He performed in between sets, totally unsolicited. Honestly, Ceilidh With Us helped make our day totally unforgettable."

"Hello Fiddlestix, We are just away on holiday but wanted to thank you, the band and your fabulous caller for getting our daughter’s wedding reception off to such a great start! We knew we had a few guests who would definitely get up and take part, but to have so many joining in the fun and to hear all of the glowing compliments afterwards was great! The cheesy disco afterwards was good fun too, but I think partly that was down to the fact everyone had had such a great laugh with their attempts at barn dancing and were keen to stay on the dance floor! "What can I say? If you are a fan of Irish music, instrumental or with vocals then Dermot and the rest of the amazing musicians are who you need to hire! They were an absolute joy and a pleasure to have play at my beloved father's wake. They are such lovely and friendly people as well as fantastic musicians with a vast array of instrumentation between them. They graciously accepted requests prior to the event and also from some of the guests. My dad would have absolutely loved it and it made a very sad day very joyful and comforting for everyone. Our guests commented on how wonderful they were and the pub staff as well. I highly recommend hiring Dermot and the gang for any event, not just a wake. Communication was excellent before hand and hiring Dermot and the band were the easiest part of the many arrangements that we had to make when organising our dad's funeral and a wake. We sincerely thank you and highly recommend you, The O'Brien family."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / Claire’s 60th Birthday / May 2025 Black Velvet Trio were absolutely perfect for the barn dance we hosted. The trio were cool, calm and professional in their ability to literally herd cats! They were able to bring a huge smile to every face which was always my wish. The musicians were brilliant at just playing wonderful barn dance music whilst we laughed and bumped and crashed about with our two and sometimes three left feet. Our last (came too quick) dance was the Swiss Roll. We all loved it and would be so happy to have Black Velvet Trio back to do it all again."
