"Just a quick one, to say thank you very much for Saturday evening. Everyone that I have spoken to has had nothing but praise for the band. The music and caller were fantastic and really made the evening a success. We haven’t a final figure raised for charity to date, however I am sure that it will be a nice sum to pass on. "

"Stuart, thank you for a sterling evening on Saturday - everyone had a great time as was witnessed by the amount of dancing (despite the age of some of the participants.  Thank you very much for supporting us and doing the Address to the Haggis as well as the Selkirk Grace - it is very much appreciated (especially as you have such a passionate delivery of the words).  Thanks go to Jill as well as she is the perfect caller for a group like ours where many are novices and the rest of us forget the steps from one year to the next. "I have seen this band perform many times over the years and find them consistantly very good. A good mixture of folk, Irish, humour and generally fun. They've always had the ability to make you want to get up and dance!"

"We cannot say enough good things about this band!! Fantastically skilled, wonderful musicians that created a warm, fun atmosphere from the moment they arrived at our venue. Every single one of our guests has commented since about how wonderful the music was and what a good job the caller Kip did of bringing everyone together and talking us through the steps in a relaxed but clear manner. The music the band played was varied and appropriately chosen for our style of wedding reception and EVERYBODY got involved and had a dance - the music really brought people together and created a wonderful atmosphere all evening. This band are amazing and excellent value for money, and we won't hesitate to hire them again at our next big gathering. Thank you so much Blue Jewel for giving us a magical evening, you were the cherry on our wedding cake!"

"We had a joint 50th & 80th birthday party. Black Velvet were fantastic. Great musicians and made the Barn dance run smoothly. We had ages from 5 to 80 and they tailored everything perfectly. Made it a birthday to remember."

"I think you saw for yourself that we had the most magical of days last Saturday at Gate Street Barn! Your playing for the ceremony set the scene beautifully and we have had so many lovely comments from our guests, musicians and non-musicians alike. It was all very moving. It was a shame the day was a bit soggy which meant we all had to resort to the Pheasantry for the drinks and canapés but we did appreciate everything you did against all the odds! We think we were so lucky that you were available to contribute to our special day. Thank you."

"Jamie was a complete professional and delivered our wedding songs beautifully. We asked Jamie to learn some songs that were personal to us and he didn't disappoint. He was honest and realistic with us to ensure that it met our expectations which was really appreciated as we all know how important it is to have that perfect wedding day. Lots of our guests commented on his performance and loved the music. Would highly recommend."
