"The Northern Reel Collective played at the evening reception for my wedding on 30/03/2018. They were brilliant, and my guests were singing their praises. Quite a few guests had not ceilidh danced before, but nearly everyone had a go and enjoyed themselves. The well-practised Scottish contingent also enjoyed the music and dancing. My seven-year-old cousins are still talking about the dancing and what fun they had. Even the groom's 90-year-old granny was able to dance one of the slower dances. Michael did the calling on the day, giving clear instructions for people to follow; he was also great to deal with in the booking process. I can’t recommend them highly enough! Thanks, guys!"

You were absolutely superb from start to finish and as you could probably tell from all the dancing, our guests absolutely loved all your music too! "Thank you, guys, for finding time beforehand to rehearse with Amy, the bridegroom’s sister, who sang Elton John’s “Your Song” for the bride and groom’s 1st dance. It was beautiful and very special to have her sing their first song with accompaniment from the band. I think everyone was very moved by it (we are hoping someone filmed it but are not sure!). The dance floor was packed all evening for the ceilidh and we all had great fun - which was the intention. It was an amazing day, evening and whole weekend - we carried on the celebrations on Sunday! Thank you to Black Velvet Band for helping to make the wedding so memorable. "

You gauged the mood of the evening and the company perfectly and have had lots of positive feedback. "I just wanted to write and say a huge 'thank you' for all your efforts on Sunday. You really made the event with your wonderful playing, and it really added that special something! Mother thought that it was wonderful, and enjoyed her day immensely. Unfortunately I didn't see you leaving so I'm very sorry to have missed you. "Mick and band were excellent. They were very obliging, talented, friendly, flexible and entertaining. The dancing was great, they worked hard to get as many people up to dance as possible and it work. It was a great night."

"Ceòl Beag came and played for us at our graduation ball, and they were fantastic. The majority of the people in the room had never done any of the ceilidh dances before, but the band's instructions were really clear and easy to follow. Everyone had a really great time, and it was the perfect way to finish off studying in Scotland!"
