"I hired the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band for a party I was having (for its own sake!). I made initial contact with Kip online since I live in China and was arranging the party for when I would be at home in the summer. Kip was easy to deal with and the booking was arranged with just a few short emails. On the night, Kip and the rest of the band turned up with the same sense of ease and informality. They provided us with a fantastic night of entertainment with Kip giving clear instructions for the dances as caller. I would thoroughly recommend the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band for their quality musicianship, their excellent rates and for their warm and friendly service."

"Had these guys along for my recent wedding as we wanted something that would be inclusive for all people attending to get involved in. The band were all that I could hope for. "I just have to thank Black Velvet Band for the great job they did at my 70th birthday ceilidh in Bristol on 24th June. I had such a great time, and that was partly down to the three of them working hard, and giving us great music to dance to. I danced every dance and enjoyed it so much. When the caller was explaining how to reel I thought, "Uh oh, this'll be fun!" and it certainly was ... I haven't laughed so much in ages. So, well done everyone involved, and if we ever have another I'll be sure to contact you again."

"I can be regarded as 'difficult' mainly becauseI expect value for money and we certainly got that with Joe and the band - I have a reputation for telling it like I see it good or bad and in the case of Oddsox it can only be good. ......It was a fantastic night, one of the band said to me as he was packing up to go that the band had enjoyed themselves with the audience which I think says it all - even the non folkies have commented on how much fun it was and how much they enjoyed it, and my 85 year old father wants to know when we are doing it again!!!! I would be happy to recommend Oddsox to anyone. Thanks once again to the band for helping make our wedding day A perfect day - looking back we wouldn't change a thing "

"The music was really lovely" Thank you so much for playing at our wedding (9th September 2023* Saturday Ruskin House, 23 Coombe Rd, Croydon CR0 1BD}.The music was really lovely and it's a testament to how great it was that so many people were dancing on such a hot day!
