"Each year our section hold a rally. Each year we visit a different location alternating between the UK and Europe. It was my turn to organise a weeks rally in the UK, and I chose the Two Bridges Hotel near Princetown as our base. We needed some form of entertainment for our Gala Night. Our group are in the in main middle fifties and some over eighty so the last thing we need was a rock group. I had some opposition when I suggested a Folk group but I prevailed and have to say that tracking down a band was in the area was extremely difficult. Typing a search in Google for local folk groups resulted in names almost everywhere except in the West Country. Eventually I contacted Blue Jewel and Steve convinced me that they could adapt to our needs. Every single person enjoyed the groups performance, there were 62 people there and almost every single one said how much they enjoyed the group. As the organiser I was greatly impressed by the way they accommodated our requirements and we had a brilliant night. Thank you Blue Jewel Chris. "A lovely, friendly professional band Re-Jigged Ceilidh Band were recommended to me by one of their players for our charity Barn Dance. They were great fun, friendly and very professional. Chris contacted me in advance to enquire about access, parking, and facilities in the hall to make correct arrangements. They arrived 1and 1/2 hours beforehand and set up their equipment efficiently. They looked good on stage with coloured lights along the front and dressed appropriately. Each member is a professional musician and the music was excellent, with balance and volume adjusted perfectly for the hall. They kept 90 people dancing for 3 hours, with an interval . It was a great atmosphere. I hope they will play for us again and I would not hesitate to recommend the Rejigged Ceilidh Band. Annie Judge HEPT Barn dance 30th November 2019 "

"We booked Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio for a sixtieth birthday party. Very much a family event, so all ages including children, who particularly enjoyed it, although everyone had a really great time. One of the parents told me that her little one has decided that a ceilidh is the very best kind of birthday party, so the bar was set high for all future birthdays there! A few people knew the dances already, but most didn’t, and our caller guided us through each dance so that everyone could join in the fun! The atmosphere was lovely, and the musicians were impressive, plus really lovely people who were accommodating, helpful and great fun. I would definitely recommend them; they were fantastic, and the whole evening was an absolute joy. The only thing now is to find a good reason to do it all again!"

"We had a great time ably assisted by the music and calling of the Black Velvet Ceilidh Band. Thank you so much! The band were very adaptable, as we changed the arrangement for the sets on the night, and reassured that they were there to entertain - which they certainly did. They got people up dancing from the first note to the last and many, many guests have commented how much they enjoyed the ceilidh."

"We wanted to email and once again thank you for playing at our wedding last Sunday at Lochgreen in Troon. You guys were terrific! Our very international group of guests had a great time, for many of them, first time at a wedding in Scotland and certainly first time at a ceilidh. Thank you for expertly guiding them through the dances and making sure people roughly knew what they were meant to be doing! We've had many comments about how good the band was so we wanted to pass that along to you. Thriller and the Bond theme being dropped mid dance and the impromptu Game of Thrones dance were particular highlights. "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Viv’s 50th Birthday Ceilidh – January 2025 We had an amazing evening. Dan, Ned and Heather were brilliant. Firstly Dan was incredibly helpful and reassuring when I spoke to him a few weeks in advance. He was very relaxed but also incredibly reassuring that it would be fun and go well! He was very warm and I felt ‘everything would be alright’! They came very promptly and set up very unobtrusively. The music was perfect and Ned was a fantastic caller. He drew people in so well and had a very relaxed manner, he made it very enjoyable. Dan on the guitar and Heather on the fiddle were excellent! We had a fantastic evening of dancing with them. So many of our guests commented on how they made it such fun. They made it a great success. I highly recommend them."
