"We absolutely loved having Black Velvet Band play our wedding ceilidh at Clearwell Castle. My husband is from Scotland so we wanted a traditional Scottish ceilidh feel with some of the classics, and we were not disappointed! We had a good feeling about Black Velvet band from the moment we booked them - and sure enough, Mike and the guys were absolutely fantastic and made our evening party a huge success. The band were great and the instructions on the ceilidh dances were so helpful; even those of our party who may not have normally danced were up there loving life on the dancefloor. The fun and friendly atmosphere they created was just fab and so different from your ‘usual’ evening do. All our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the ceilidh and some said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We would 100% book the band again and recommend them to friends. "This Duo are amazing and I could not stop dancing and stomping along to their set. The singers gravely vocals are lovely and sound like a vintage whiskey mixed with a cheeky cigar. The violinist is a little pocket rocket of energy and is electrifying to watch. "

"Mark was great - arrived on time and set up before anyone arrived. good sense of humour. He played all the right sort of music that I had asked for-and sounded even better than the clip on-line. All the comments I heard from people who came to the party were extremely positive. Several people asked for details - so there may be more bookings coming Mark's way! I would book him again."

"Ardverikie Ceilidh Band played for our 40th birthday (70 adults + 20 kids). They were brilliant. The caller gave clear instructions and plenty of encouragement and was undaunted by the chaos of a squad of kids. The fiddle playing and guitar were excellent, and the musicians had the judgement to know when to give the crowd a rest and mix in instrumental sets and songs. In short, they put on a great Ceilidh, are absolute professionals and their version of the song “the Queen of Argyle” made my night."
