Review Centre: Celtic Groups & Ceilidh Bands

"Thank you, guys, for finding time beforehand to rehearse with Amy, the bridegroom’s sister, who sang Elton John’s “Your Song” for the bride and groom’s 1st dance. It was beautiful and very special to have her sing their first song with accompaniment from the band. I think everyone was very moved by it (we are hoping someone filmed it but are not sure!). The dance floor was packed all evening for the ceilidh and we all had great fun - which was the intention. It was an amazing day, evening and whole weekend - we carried on the celebrations on Sunday! Thank you to Black Velvet Band for helping to make the wedding so memorable. "

We were impressed with how The Shooglers enthused the many German guests with the spirit of ceilidh dancing, even though none of them had ever seen anything like it before! "Ceilidh With Us are BRILLIANT. We originally booked the duo to play an Irish/Country set during our reception drinks at our wedding. After chatting with them we then made them an integral part of our ceremony too. They played my wife down the aisle live, played songs during the ceremony and played us out of the room also. In the run up to the day, communication was perfect, we were able to make requests, change things and working with them was so easy! They really made the ceremony and reception and so many of our guests commented on how much they loved the music and the atmosphere it created. Special mention to the two songs our guests sung along to during our ceremony, it sounded beautiful and a huge thanks to both for learning a slightly obscure song to play my wife down the aisle. It was amazing! We can not recommend Ceilidh With Us enough, they are awesome! Book them! We would love to again."

"Thank you so much to Kelly’s Heroes for performing at our wedding evening reception. They were friendly and helpful from the beginning of the booking process right through to after the wedding. All our guests loved them, they provided a great lively atmosphere, and encouraged everyone to get involved. We had guests who go to ceilidhs regularly, and some who had never been to one before. The ceilidh was suitable for everyone, and everyone said how much fun they had. One of the band members taught us the moves to a first dance ceilidh, which we then demonstrated so that everyone could get involved. It was a slower dance and an ideal start with to get everyone involved and comfortable with the dancing. We went for the six person band with two song sets and a ceilidh, and this was ideal for an evening do. Kelly’s Heroes played a great range of tunes which everyone enjoyed tapping along to even if they weren’t ready for a dance yet! We really hope to see them play again in the near future, and we definitely recommend them for events. "

"If you haven't seen this band and you are into pirate folk rock then don't delay. It was the first time for me and I was blown away. If you want a lively evening with some very talented musicians who want you to join in with them then this is for you!!"

"BM Ceilidh were excellent! They pitched it right for our inexperienced group, getting among us to ensure we were right and keeping steps fairly straight forward. Additionally, they were very good at trying to keep us on track with timings when we stopped for food as well as playing while we talked and recovered between dances"

"The Rejigged Ceilidh Band played for our wedding a couple of weeks ago at High Rocks and they were absolutely wonderful! The talented band performed for us an incredible Scottish Ceilidh and dressed accordingly! The music was superb and the caller made the dance easy for all our wedding guests to follow! We even received a congratulations on our wedding card from the band! Their communication was superb, the music remarkable and we cannot recommend them more highly! Thank you Rejigged!"

"I just wanted to send you a quick email to say we had a rip roaring old night at the Burns Supper last night and the band loved it themselves! We had a packed dance floor all night although it was a form of disorganised chaos for the most part but everyone had the time of their lives and are mad keen to come again!"
